Finance Committee
Bruce Hunley reported that the audit found no discrepancies.
Membership Committee

HVA
Bobby Brite reported that the Meat Bingo is scheduled. The hope is to turn the event back over to the Auxiliary soon.
Building Committee
2nd Vice Cmdr. Mark Epley reported that he will be meeting with the City of Howell Fire Marshall to review the fire suppression requirements for the kitchen.
Mark is also working on bids for the new AC system for the building.
Past Commanders’ Committee
2nd Vice Cmdr. Mark Epley reported that progress is being made with the organization of the Post Family Picnic. He hopes to have two bands along with the pig roast.
Americanism Committee
Don Lang reported that everything is set for the Girls and Boys States delegates supported by the Post.
Color Guard
Mike Philips is absent—no report.
Communications Committee
Terri Ramos was absent, but Past Cmdr. Laura Goldthwait reported that the new Post website is now available and asks members to notify Terri if any issues are found.
Gone But Not Forgotten
Shawn Gibbons reported that the flags were posted for Memorial Day.
Shawn expressed thanks to the Post Honor Guard members for participating in the memorial service at St. Joseph Cemetery (Howell) on Memorial Day.
By-Laws Committee
Jim Grimes reported that the committee met on 05/27/2026 and that work is ongoing.
Historian’s Report
Past Cmdr. Bobby Brite expounded on the significance of the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago this coming July 4th.
Post Service Officer Report
Terran Frye reported that last month, a veteran was assisted with his car payment ($950.00).
There is a veteran resource fair scheduled for 07/01 from 10-1400 hrs. at Kohl’s shopping center in Howell.

- The 2026-2027 Proposed Budget was sent out to members for review.

- Bobby Brite moved to have $5,000.00 available for the Auxiliary to cover operational expenses.

All-You-Can -Eat Father’s Day Breakfast on 06/21 from 08-1200 hrs.
Marine Corps. League
Gary Dunn reported that the Marine Corps League is meeting to plan the 2027 Marine Corps Ball. The price next year will be raised to $25.00/person.
Gary Dunn is in desperate need of a new location for the Toys for Tots inventory. He needs 4-6K of floor space. The new management at their current location is pushing to rent the current building front.

Commander’s Remarks
Thanks for allowing me to be your commander. Laura did a great job helping me learn the job. Let’s keep moving forward as an American Legion family. We are the 5th largest Post in the state. Our Post has the largest number of WOT veterans in the nation. We need to continue recruiting young members.
- Bobby Brite requested that New Business be reopened and requested the membership’s approval of $2,400.00 to renew the “WeDo” online annual licensing application. The application is used for Post online sales and is currently expired.
- Robert Woodson moved to renew the license for $2,400.00
- Terran Frye seconded the motion.
- Motion carried.
