How Can a Post Service Officer Help?
The Post Service Officer (PSO) serves as a local connection between veterans, dependents, and representatives accredited by the American Legion. While the PSO cannot directly file claims on behalf of a claimant, assistance is available to help veterans and families better understand available benefits, resources, and next steps.
Our PSO can help connect:
- Active duty, Guard, and Reserve service members
- Veterans of all U.S. military branches
- Immediate family members
- Caregivers and support people
If the exact answer or resource is not immediately available, every effort will be made to connect individuals with someone who can help.
For non-emergency matters, please reach out during daytime hours. Post 141 will respond as soon as possible to calls, texts, or emails.
Contact & Appointments
For added convenience, meetings may also be arranged in the conference room at the Livingston County Veteran Services Office in Howell. If that location is preferred, please mention it when scheduling. Off-site meetings are also available by appointment.
In-Person Meetings: By appointment only

Leaving military service does not mean leaving the military family behind. Service members stood together then, and that support continues today.
