The past month, the Legion family helped the mother of a service member. She needed help getting home after assisting her son, who was involved in an accident. $500.
PSO attended the Howell Farmers Market on May 17th. Spoke with several veterans about benefits and how we can assist them.
As I have served as the American Legion #141 Post Service Officer for the past year, I want to thank you all for re-electing me to continue serving all the Veterans. Over the last year, I spent $ 4,759.49 helping our veterans and their families.
Attention
A need has been identified in the community for veterans. We all know that Livingston County Veteran Services provides rides for veterans. However, veterans need a ride and someone to stay with them during the procedures. I have now started a list for a veteran ride share. If you would like to be on the standby list, please let me know. This doesn’t mean you have to do it, but it gives a list to go down and ask for help. If you need a driver, please reach out asap to plan and coordinate. This will be a great resource for all of our members.
Darana Dragway-Milan
Veterans and active military are invited to attend IHRA National Events free of charge. Guests receive 50% off admission at participating events.
Struggling?
If you are a veteran or know a veteran needing help, please say something. There are plenty of resources in our community. Gleaners Food Bank is here in Livingston. If you need someone to talk to, please reach out. If you need a battle, we’ve got those, too!
Veteran Resource Fair
July 1st from 10 am-2 pm in the Kohl’s parking lot next to the Livingston County Veterans office. There will be several resources to help veterans within our community.
Howell Recreation
Save an average of an additional 15% on community center membership.
Track Chair Rental
Lorea is renting out a track Chair for free. This is a great opportunity for disabled veterans who want to get outside. Taking it hunting, fishing or long walks on the beach with a loved one.
Livingston County Veterans Service Office
Veterans, please visit them at 1420 Lawson Drive next to the Secretary of State in Howell to learn how they may be of service to you!
